Continuous Drum Roaster

The continuous drum roaster FRC uses forced and graduated convective heat for roasting. It is designed for very gentle roasting of cocoa, nuts or grains. The product is roasted by passing the roasting cylinder is small batches, similar to a spiral screw. The hot air is injected by a nozzle system in the roasting drum, which is devided in two sections to allow different temperature profiles in the drum. Using convective heating provides very fast drying of the product and the integrated recirculation minimizes the engery consuption of the machine.

Incorporating our optional alkalizing reaktor FNA, the FRC provides intense color development of the nibs using various reaction solutions and efficient reduction of the TPC.

Our continuous drum roasters, type FRC is availabe in 3 industrial sizes:

1. FRC 280 with up to 2000 kg/h cocoa
2. FRC 460 with up to 4000 kg/h cocoa
3. FRC 980 with up to 8000 kg/h cocoa
