Continuous Drum Pre-Treatment Plant
type FSC Shellcon
Thermal pretreatment reduces the adhesion forces between the shell and kernel and removes moisture from the beans. The shell volume is increased up to 20% while the plate count is reduced up to 2–3 decimal powers. The heat recirculation system provides a significant energy savings. The beans are optimally prepared for the next process step.
Continuous Drum Pre-Treatment Plant
type FSC Shellcon
- Inflating or “ballooning” effect – increase of the shell volume by up to 20 %
- Optimal protection of the nib; brittle shell – soft and flexible nib
- Reduction of the total plate count by 2–3 decimal powers
- Heat recirculation for saving of energy. Hot air recircu-lation means a reduced demand of fresh air to be heated and a reduced volume of polluted exhaust air. Dust is re-duced by an incorporated cyclone and – together with the process moisture – be nearly completely removed during its way through the heating oven, before re-entering the system. The process takes place by using parameters, that protects the product.
- Risk of fire is minimized due to the self-cleaning process and “low” surface temperatures.
- Due to the external heat generation with oven and blower burner, product fines does not come into contact with an open fire.
